After waiting for 3 months, the great day arrived - 20 minutes with the dermatologist from the Big Smoke at the Outreach Clinic. Yes, I admit that I scratch. This sets up a vicious cycle - scratch-infection-scratch to relieve pain caused by fluid build up of infection. But, no, I don't scratch in the first place. My skin is very sensitive, it's overly sweaty and it rubs easily to a blister. So, a slight irritation (not scratching) causes me to scratch and then we get the vicious cycle.
However, the dm ($150) puts it all down to scratching. So, a bit like the homeopath, if his medicines (cortisone and antibiotics) don't work it will be because I continued to scratch. Talk about win-win for him.

Very First Blog
First blog begins with my first piano lesson in 41 years! Some nuns will have a lot to answer for when they knock on heaven's door. How can a child be enthusiastic enough to learn piano for 8 years in a totally dysfunctional family, and yet close the piano lid at the age of 16 and not open it again for all those years. How destructive those teaching methods of the 1950s and 1960s were! But, revisiting the piano yesterday I realised they hadn't been successful in crushing my spirit, just in submerging it for a very long time.
